Wike Tells Newly Sworn-in Perm Secs, FCT Civil Service Commission Officials Who To Work For
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on the newly sworn-in Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries, as well as Chairman and Commissioners of the FCT Civil Service Commission, to pledge their loyalty and commitment to President Bola Tinubu’s administration. This appeal was made during their swearing-in ceremony on Monday, presided over by the Chief Judge of the FCT High Court, Justice Husseini Baba-Yusuf, represented by Justice Sylvanus Oriji.
Wike expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for approving the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission in October 2023 and for appointing the new officials. He urged them to be proactive and work towards realizing the goals of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the President.
He emphasized the importance of their roles, reminding them of the need for efficiency and diligence in their duties. Wike highlighted the consequences of underperformance, emphasizing that there would be no leniency for those who fail to meet expectations. He urged the officials to fully support President Tinubu’s agenda for the FCT and ensure effective governance in the region.
